FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


1. What information will the College Hockey Symposium (CHS)provide on the route to play college hockey?
ANSWER: The College Hockey Symposium will provide you the opportunity to skate with and meet current USHL and College hockey coaches. By the end of the weekend you will understand the college hockey path and what routes to consider. Playing college hockey isn't easy, but it is good to find out all of your options while you are considering your college alternatives.

2. Why is the College Hockey Symposium a better program than other summer hockey camps, schools or teams?

ANSWER: The College Hockey Symposium is not a hockey school or camp. Our mission is to promote a balance between academics and hockey and explain the various options available to have college hockey experience. This information will provide an opportunity for you to be successful both on the ice and in school.

3. How much time will the weekend ice and classroom time run?

ANSWER: The schedule for the weekend will be a Friday evening and then Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm. There will be time for lunch and rest in between sessions. The total on ice time for the weekend is almost 5 hours with seminars in between.

4. Who are the instructors involved?
ANSWER: Div. I College Coach, Div. III College Coach, Junior Hockey Coach, College Hockey Graduates.

5. What age groups attend CHS camps?

ANSWER: Applications for student-athletes will be accepted for players who are who are 12 years and older. The space is limited to 30 players in order to assure a competitive camp and low ratio to players and instructors.
